COMMITTEE

CLAN FARQUHARSON UK

As a non-profit organisation, our Committee is composed entirely of volunteers, all dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Clan Farquharson's heritage and to fostering and ever-increasing, yet closely-knit, international community. Not only do we provide a service to our members, but we also actively represent and promote the Society to the general public and provide support to Clan Farquharson’s Overseas Societies.

There are exciting times ahead with some ambitious plans for development and, since we still have some Committee positions to fill, do please get in touch if you are keen to get involved. A list of current or forthcoming vacancies can be found at the bottom of this page.

While we officially meet on a quarterly basis, currently by video conference, we have recently been meeting informally on a more frequent basis as we have been conscientiously preparing some exciting developments. We have also recently commenced regular international video conferences with the leaders of our affiliated Clan Farquharson societies overseas. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) usually takes place in Ballater at the end of the Clan Gathering, however due to intense preparations for our Virtual Gathering in 2020, the AGM this year will take place in September. Committee roles are renewed or re-allocated at the AGM.

VOLUNTEERING

VACANCIES

Clan Farquharson UK needs volunteers, especially at this exciting stage of development. We invite you to strongly consider providing some of your time towards helping us to achieve our goals in making the Society an efficient and exemplary organisation at the forefront of a Scottish Clan Cultural revival.

You can help in one of two ways. Either you can apply to fill one of the vacant roles on our Committee (see opposite) or you could offer your support on an ad hoc basis, such as helping onsite at our annual Gathering, contributing to our twice-yearly newsletter or carrying out valuable market or historical research which would help us to provide our members and the wider public with an enhanced experience.

Thank you in advance of your support. All applications, offers of assistance or related questions should be channelled in the first instance via admin@clanfarquharson.com

Please find below the list positions that are either currently available or soon to become available. All applicants must be 18 years or over, resident in the UK and able to provide their services on a voluntary basis.
